This role involves independently handling estate planning and estate administration files, including client meetings, drafting documents, and guiding clients through the probate and trust settlement process. While this position does not require involvement in litigation matters, attorneys who are efficient and ambitious will have opportunities to take on additional work, such as assisting with drafting litigation documents, if their workload allows. Responsibilities
  • Drafting trust and estate documents tailored to clients needs and goals
  • Hosting consultations and client meetings in-person and remotely to execute signatures, answer questions, and conduct business succession planning
  • Working alongside financial advisors to ensure plans are in place for clients
  • Drafting, reviewing and executing complex estate and business planning documents such as buy/sell agreements, life insurance trusts, GST Trusts, and charitable remainder trusts
Requirements
  • JD Degree and admitted in NJ
  • Minimum of 3 years of Trusts and Estates experience
  • Experience working with both high net worth and business clients
  • An ability to explain legal concepts to clients, ensuring they understand their estate plan
  • Client relation skills with a strong sense of empathy for client situations
  • A positive attitude and independence to manage their own day
Bonus Experience (Not Required)
  • A business planning background
  • An LLM degree or CELA accreditation
  • Experience utilizing Wealth Counsel
